My family really enjoyed ourselves tonight. Seems like a family owned business, everyone was extremely polite. We all enjoyed some ramen, sushi, pork skewers and saki. It wasn't super americanized and tasted authentic, which I personally loved. But expect less salt and not so covered in sauces. But overall a solid 10/10 for what we were looking for! We will definitely be returning for more and want to thank the people there for such a wonderful family night out!Kid-friendliness: They had a son that was enjoying himself, my son wanted to play with him so bad! And they also were extremely polite trying to help him with his chop sticks and getting him a fork when he struggled
It’s my first in VA and I was really craving ramen and this place had exactly what I wanted. The server is really nice and attentive! You can tell the sushi chef puts great attention to the dishes to make the them really good. The food was up to my expectations (p.s i’m a very picky eater) I will definitely recommend this place to others!
Found this hidden gem while driving through Newport News today! This spot was cozy and welcoming, not to mention the staff made me feel very comfortable while attending to my needs. As for my order, I had spicy tonkotsu ramen along with their new strawberry boba. The ramen was very flavorful and it definitely felt like the chef had put a lot of effort into making the broth. I loved the toppings that came with the dish as the chashu pork melted throughout my mouth and the spicy umami broth lingered on the roof of my tongue and back of my throat. To end this meal, I decided to order a strawberry boba to-go which pleasantly reminded me of the iconic Korean strawberry milk which I buy in cartons at Farm Fresh! Overall, I had a great experience and would greatly encourage everyone else to give them a shot!
Honestly there wasn't a lot going on for this place, though nothing was particularly bad. The service kind of sucked. The 2 people working watched TV the entire time my girlfriend and I ate and I had to call over and interrupt whenever we needed refills, check, etc. Had to eat my salad with chop sticks because I couldn't get their attention to get a fork. Food was ok, nothing special, definition of mediocre. Atmosphere was weird that they play themselves off as a Japanese restaurant when they had Korean tv playing as our background ?
