The squid was crispy but sadly lacked any flavor in its coating. The scallops were undercooked—one didn't even have any color on the outside—and the accompanying items didn’t enhance the dish at all. There were randomly placed raw tomatoes and spring onions, although the parsnip purée was quite nice. Unfortunately, the rest of the dish fell short. On a positive note, the lamb rump was good. The dining room was quite cold; even with the fireplace on, we felt chilly in our sweaters. To make matters worse, one section of the floor was soaked due to flooding.
During our visit, we experienced some staffing challenges, and there were two new chefs who appeared to be a bit overwhelmed. Our server, although working alone, was very friendly and considerate. He even offered to remove our meal from the bill due to the long wait. However, I had a concerning incident where I was inadvertently served a Peroni with alcohol instead of the alcohol-free option I had requested. I didn’t realize it until my third sip, which was quite upsetting since I don’t drink. Overall, the cost per person was approximately £30-£40.

This pub boasts amazing views! The food is quite good, and the service is friendly. Although the vegan options could use a bit more excitement—particularly the main courses, which were rather average—the hummus and falafel appetizer was delicious, and the apple crumble dessert was a real treat. I mentioned that it was my birthday, and they went out of their way to make the evening memorable!
This delightful gastro pub provides a beautiful view of the river. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. However, the decor could use some updating, as it looks a bit worn and neglected in some spots. Sadly, the quality of our food was merely average and tended to be a bit overcooked. While the presentation was appealing, it didn't really justify the prices. Nonetheless, we still enjoyed a pleasant evening overall.
