The Church House Inn - Newton Abbot

The restaurant is located in a charming old building that exudes a character often lacking in more modern places. Parking can be a bit scarce, so it’s wise to arrive early in the evening. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, carefully showing us to our seats. The food was outstanding and served in generous portions, and our attentive waitress frequently checked in on us to make sure we were comfortable. The serene and beautiful atmosphere contributed to a lovely evening. Thank you!

This delightful village pub boasts plenty of seating in its warm and inviting bar and restaurant area. They offer an excellent selection of beers and other drinks, complemented by an enticing menu and a range of daily specials. We began our meal with olives and bread as an appetizer, and I savored a delicious tuna steak served with salad and coleslaw. My husband chose one of the biggest steak puddings we've ever encountered. We were so full that we couldn't manage dessert! All in all, it was a wonderful dining experience.

It had been a while since our last trip to the Church House, but we were definitely impressed this time. The home-cooked meals were exceptional, and the selection of craft ales was fantastic. The friendly staff added to the warm, rustic atmosphere of this historic pub, making our visit truly enjoyable.

I recently went to the restaurant for a meal over Easter, having eaten there several times before. I recall the food being better and the menu having more variety in the past. Unfortunately, the main menu hasn't changed in several years. Moreover, some items were unavailable, and they seemed to be running low on options during our visit. I don't think I'll be going back.

The staff is incredibly friendly, the food is tasty, and the ambiance is charming and cozy. It's also pet-friendly and features a spacious garden.
