Once we placed our order, it took just under 20 minutes for our food to arrive, and everything was prepared as we requested. Our server was friendly and seemed well-qualified. However, there were a few drawbacks. The hostess seated us outside at a table that was fully exposed to the sun. While I was relatively okay with this at the time, I now feel a bit sunburned. The hostess did not ask us if we preferred to sit inside or outside, nor did she check if a sunlit table was acceptable before leading us outside. She left it up to me to voice any objections after we were already taken to the table. Additionally, after we were seated, it took about 16 to 17 minutes for our server to greet us with water and take our order. He was apologetic for the delay, explaining that he had been pulled to help cover for a coworker who didn’t show up. From that point on, he did a good job. At the end of our meal, he mentioned that many new staff members were on duty, which is understandable since it’s September. However, this indicates there may be some training issues. In my opinion, these shortcomings suggest a failure in management. The person responsible for supervising the front of the house was not adequately on top of things. We will likely return, as the menu has some interesting options. I’m willing to give them another chance to improve.
It was a wonderful spot for breakfast. However, it can get quite loud due to the busy atmosphere. It would be nice to have a more private area for smaller groups without children.
The food was delicious, prices were reasonable! Had options for vegetarians as well! Be sure to call ahead to get your name on the waiting list. They do get very busy! Our waitress was very nice and took great care of us! Great atmosphere as well!
My wife had previously visited the Doylestown location and raved about it, so we decided to check out the Newton location together. We had lunch on the outdoor patio, which was wonderfully relaxing. We both ordered the salad and half sandwich combo, and the portion sizes were generous enough that my wife even had some to take home. Everything was delicious, and the environment was calm and unhurried. Overall, it was a delightful experience.
I ordered the Benedict with avocado and noticed that the avocado was spoiled and black in color. I let my server know, and they just said “sorry”, but didn’t offer any sort of solution. Otherwise the food was tasty and the coffee as well.
