The Chicken Shop - Newtown

Been here once, service was really friendly. They gave me a free chicken tender to try (I'm really indecisive), I ended up ordering the chicken tenders meal. Yummy chicken tenders, great crumb and not dry at all. The fries are really good.

The southern style fried chicken leg is a must try! I've never had a souther style fried chicken before and I don't know what the authentic one tastes like. But I do love the ones from the chicken shop!

Loooveeee the chicken wings and mac n cheese. The wings taste as though they've been marinating overnight, u can taste the flavour down to the bone! Mac n cheese had amazing flavour but the pasta could've been cooked a little less, overall still amazing! Customer service was great as usual! My go to when im in Newtown and need a quick feed.

Nah...this is NOT a chicken place I would recommend.  BBQ chicken was oily (pool of oil when I lifted it from container), and Southern Fried chicken was tasteless.  Cole slaw was 'ok', roasted veggies were dry.  Staff were quite nice, I'll say that.  But if you want good BBQ chicken from Newtown, you ABSOLUTELY can't beat Clem's (up the street, same side of King Street, about 5 blocks - an institution because they're damn good.  GREAT salads, chicken, customer service, chips, EVERYTHING!!!

Bought the old style chick burger in a meal and it was honestly the BEST burger I have ever had! Every flavour mixed so well and tasted so fresh! The chips are unique and so tasty! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside which is how I love my chips. I'm so impressed I will definitely be returning even though I live 30+ miss away!!
