We had a reservation for 6:00 PM on Saturday and requested a window seat as it was a birthday celebration. They graciously honored our request. Our server, Alvin, was very friendly and well-informed about the menu. He specially prepared my pineapple margarita without the spice, and it was delicious. I ordered the linguine carbonara while my husband opted for the salmon. The only downside was that his dish did not come with a side; there were just some shredded vegetables that seemed more like a garnish than a side dish, so we decided to order a side of macaroni and cheese. We also received four buns with our meal, which were delightful. The food overall was excellent. The view primarily featured the American Falls, situated to the side. I did wish they had decorated for Christmas, as there was no tree, although they played wonderful Christmas music. As a lovely surprise, our server brought me a complimentary sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for my birthday. It truly was a wonderful experience.
The view is absolutely incredible. Our server was very friendly, but it would have been helpful to know that the side dishes are enormous. The baked potato was as big as my head! The steak was decent, but at $69 for a 7oz filet (which doesn't come with any sides), I've certainly had better. We ended up spending an astounding $350 for two adults and two kids' meals, without any alcohol, and we ended up with a lot of leftovers. Additionally, there was a large lump of coarse salt on my plate that I kept accidentally getting in my mouth. Overall, I would have preferred to pay less and have smaller portions for the sides. I suggest sharing dishes to make the most of the experience.
The disappointment began with the steak. From the first bite, I was confronted with an excessively tough piece of meat that required an unusual amount of effort to chew. It felt like I was trying to gnaw through a rubber tire instead of enjoying a quality cut of beef. The lack of tenderness was surprising, given the establishment’s reputation. Moreover, the flavor—or rather, the absence of it—was equally disheartening. The steak completely missed the mark, lacking any juiciness or savory notes, which was a missed opportunity for the chef to showcase their culinary skills. In a last-ditch effort to salvage the situation, I asked for ketchup. I don’t usually resort to condiments like this for steak, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Sadly, even this familiar companion couldn't help. No amount of ketchup could hide the steak's toughness or impart the flavor it so desperately needed. It was a hopeless endeavor, and I realized that this meal was beyond rescue. As if the disappointment of the steak wasn’t enough, the lobster dish only added to our woes. Lobster, celebrated for its delicate sweetness, should have been the highlight of our meal. Instead, it was smothered in a heavy white sauce that completely overshadowed the natural flavor of the seafood. The sauce felt like a desperate attempt by the chef to mask potential shortcomings in the lobster’s freshness or quality, but it only made things worse. It was awful and failed to enhance the lobster's natural flavors, instead masking the already disappointing taste and leaving us yearning for a true seafood experience. What made this meal even more disappointing was the fact that my wife and I had been looking forward to this dinner for quite some time. We rarely get the opportunity to enjoy a nice meal out together, so we had high hopes. We envisioned a romantic evening filled with delicious dishes and engaging conversation, but instead, we were met with disappointment and frustration. Our anticipation turned into regret as we recognized that this special occasion had been wasted due to a lackluster dining experience. In summary, this meal was an unfortunate blend of tough, flavorless steak and unappetizing lobster buried under a thick white sauce, resulting in an overall disappointing evening that was meant to be memorable.
We had a great dinner! The food was delicious and came out quickly. The server Michael, was extremely kind and attentive. We even got a free dessert for our anniversary. I would definitely come back here next time I'm in the area!
We were celebrating my two tweens birthdays in Niagara Falls and decided to check out Prime instead of doing the Keg like we would normally opt for.We had an amazing view of the falls and fireworks. There is a kids menu, and both girls loved their meals. I ordered the ribeye and a side of Mushrooms and it was amazing. It was well seasoned, tender, and perfectly cooked easily the best steak I've ever had.My kids were surprised with a birthday treat too which was unexpected.Yes, it is not a cheap restaurant, but the value is definitely there. Well worth trying, we will be back!
