The Drinks (we throughly enjoyed the Empress 75 and Maple Old Fashion) are perfect, and the food (we had the Prince Edward oysters, tofu and the black lager pie) was melt in your mouth delicious! We haven't had an experience in a very long time that EVERYTHING went beyond expectations! We highly recommend this establishment and it is now a definite go to when we are in town!Vegetarian options: Enough options available to choose from!
We had been on a wine tour to the Niagara on the Lake with my daughter and her family and decided to have a quick dinner before heading home to Toronto. Each of us had different meals but everyone was satisfied with what they had. The service was great and the ambience too was very welcoming. I had the lamb korma with the cauliflower and it was very flavourful and satisfying at the end of the day.I did forget my reading glasses at the restaurant and called them the next day. Natalie the restaurant manager was very courteous and helpful, took down my cell number and address and couriered it to me which I received after the long weekend.Amazing service, excellent food and a great choice to have meals at any time of day.Thank you and appreciated:
Awesome place. Our server Naomi was on point with amazing service, quick and helpful and super kind. The manager Natalie was helping out and making sure everything ran smoothly. She stopped by to make sure all was going well and had a great chat. Some of the best service I've had in a long time. Genuinely you guys sre doing great, amazing job managing and trying your staff! Thanks!
Our visit to The Garrison House was truly one of our favorite dining experiences during our trip to Niagara On The Lake. After a long day spent on a self guided walking tour and a visit to Fort George, we were looking for an enjoyable, relaxing dinner and we were very pleased with what we found at The Garrison House.Quite simply, this restaurant's location means that it is beyond the frenzy of the restaurants on Queen Street. Rather, this is a place where local residents congregate for dining and relaxation. We were seated at the beautifully decorated outdoor patio (as an alternative to interior seating) and enjoyed live music for the entire duration of our dinner. The dinner offerings were definitely nicer than the usual tourist fare. We selected Braised Lamb Korma and Steelhead Trout for our dinners, and we were very satisfied with the quality, presentation, and price. Our server was exceptionally efficient and hospitable. We also had a couple visits by the owner, who wanted to ensure that everything had met our expectations. The Garrison House is highly recommended as a dining spot in NOTL!
We went for lunch. The prime rib sandwich was wonderful and tavern fries were great. However, the caesar salad wasn't very good: the lettuce was partially brown, the dressing was odd tasting and the olives were cut up way too small. It sure needed something to make it a true caesar salad, definitely a miss and not worth ordering.Vegetarian options: I wish there were more, salmon would be good too
