The lack of freshness in the dishes was noticeable, with bland pasta sauces lacking any flavor. The chicken was extremely dry. I'm almost certain that the sauces and pasta were not freshly made, but instead came out of a box. I wouldn't spend money to eat here again.
The menu is very extensive and has good wine pairings for less experienced wine lovers (huge bonus). My wife and I spent approximately $130 for our date which is pretty good for the quality of food we received. 9oz glasses of wine were plenty and lasted us the whole time we were seated!
The host quickly took our order for takeout instead of dining in. This review is based on the food we ordered. The Chili Parmesan Crusted Calamari with Roast Garlic and Dill Yogurt was a bit overcooked and chewy, and the sauce provided was incorrect. The Grilled Chicken Carbonara on Fettuccini had too much sauce and was heavy, with the chicken being just average. The Pan Seared Shrimp on Spaghetti in Basil Cream Sauce was tasty, but only came with four pieces of shrimp, which seemed inadequate for the price of $24.00.
I would have given this restaurant a 5 star rating, but the service was lacking. Our waiter rarely came out to the patio where we were seated, brought us dirty plates twice, and poured my wine as if he was emptying a bucket of dirty water. Despite this, we enjoyed the Pinot pizza and beet salad. However, we have been experiencing nausea and upset stomachs ever since. Could it have been the dirty plates? I would consider returning to this restaurant, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it.
Very good Italian food and a nice back patio to enjoy it in. A few minutes drive from the historic downtown’s area, so parking is not an issue. The price point is a little high, but all the dishes were great.
