I loved my meal here because it was the first day of my holiday, the waiter was lovely and I ended up ordering something I wouldn't normal order and I enjoyed every bit of it. This place wasn't recommended as such but the lady who...ran our B&B suggested we walk up this direction and find somewhere more authentic, this was the first place we came to so we gave it a bash. I had a set menu thing which had a starter and a main, for our starters we had this little selection of dishes come out with some bread, there was salad, chick peas etc about 6 little dishes in all. Very tasty and refreshing. For my main I got medium rare strips of beef on top of salad with some fine parmesan cheese.. it was really scummy and the meat was lovely quality and just melted in the mouth. I loved the waiter who I think was called Claude, he was very friendly and took the time to recommend different wines, he let us try two different types before choosing. He was very attentive to begin with but as the restaurant got busier we did find we had to wait ages for our bill but we didn't mind as we were just enjoying being on holiday. On a downside, my sister ordered mussels which she said were very tasty but there were several of them (at least 8) that did not open so she couldn't eat them. Claude noticed it when he came to get her plate but did not mention it to her. I guess the chef isn't great at cooking mussels. I would have loved to have scored this place higher but I did get lucky with my order, overall I enjoyed the experience. I guess if I was going back to Nice would I rush here to eat again? Probably not but only because my sister didn't enjoy hers as much and there are loads of places to try.
Although we'd passed by many times, we'd never stopped at Le Gaspacho and very much enjoyed our sushi lunch when we did. Good quality, and plentiful, together with friendly service. Also, very good value, so we'd definitely go again.

I found this place on my trip last year and I like the staff always friendly. Food is good for the price! They have Australian wine on the menu! Coffee good too.
