Worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time. Got there at 2pm on a Sunday, so it wasn't very busy at all. Maybe 20 or 30 other people in the whole restaurant tops. With that being said, we had to stand at the host table for over 5 minutes before somebody actually came to seat us. Then after finally being seated (outside, even though it was 90 degrees), it took another 5 minutes for our waitress to come. She took our order and everything seemed fine, but then it took another 25 minutes for her to bring our food. Keep in mind that there's practically nobody else in the restaurant. By the time our food came, we had already finished our drinks a while ago, but were so focused on finally getting our food that we forgot to ask for refills, thinking we'd ask next time we saw her. Reader, we didn't see her again for another 30 minutes when she came to give us our check by which point we had already finished our food and didn't need refills anyway. It was so hot, and we waited so long, that our ice actually melted into water, so I guess *that* was our refill. She never once came to check on us; the only times we saw her were to order, getting our food, and to pay. I usually always tip at least a couple dollars even if service is bad, but I didn't leave her anything because she obviously didn't deserve it. Anyway, going back to the food being awful, I had a buffalo chicken wrap that was so saturated in oil that the tortilla literally dissolved in my hands before I could finish it. It was a giant pile of mush that I ended up having to eat with a fork. The chicken itself was extremely dry, so the only moisture in the whole wrap was the oil. Thank God the buffalo sauce wasn't hot at all (which is a separate issue), because I didn't have a drink the entire time! Since we were sitting outside, there were also flies swarming us the whole time we were eating. Overall just an absolutely horrible experience. When we got home I had to chug a bottle of water because I was so thirsty like I said, it was 90 degrees outside for Christ's sake, and we had to sit there with nothing to drink. Needless to say we're never going back.
We really enjoy Drakes, we eat at the one in palomar often. The steak is primo, love the sushi rolls and the waiting staff is always helpful
My girlfriend and myself had been looking forward to trying Drake's brunch. We went today and their seating was limited because they were filming a commercial. We sat at the bar since it was the only thing available and took 10 mins for the bar tender to even take our drink order. After he gave us our drinks he disappeared. We waited for 10 to 15 minutes and no one came to take our food order. As we were standing up and throwing $5 on the bar to cover the drink he magically appeared out of nowhere. I told him he kept us waiting to long and we were going somewhere else. I guess filming a commercial in your restaurant was more important than taking care of your customers.
