I made a reservation online and received a confirmation email. After driving 24 kilometers to get there, I arrived to find that the restaurant was closed. I tried to explain the situation to the owners as I was leaving, but they did not seem to care at all. I will not be attempting to go back to this restaurant in the future.
We were a group and had booked in advance. platz was icy and camein was not illuminated. service was extremely slow. eating burned. that was despite the only group.
This restaurant and neighboring plant nursery is situated near the town of Hurstbridge, which I had never visited before. It is in a charming semi-rural setting with plenty of parking spaces. The meal was enjoyable and the staff was friendly and efficient. They offer a great pub-style menu with prompt service. The restaurant is suitable for all age groups, and the spacious dining area has tables well-spaced apart in compliance with COVID-19 regulations. It is clear that they are still recovering from the months of closure due to the pandemic.
Set in an Australian garden. Wild kangaroo scat hints at visitors from the surrounding bush land. Lovely clean premises. The food really let them down. The lamb cutlets were overcooked as tough as old boot leather, the broccoli I was inedible. It was raw, not...even heated and the stalks were unpeeled rendering them so stringy they could even be chewed. The baked potatoes were good. The mini meringue dessert was absolutely scrumptious. The cook needs serious lessons in treating meat with respect.
Do not use the website for opening hours, I have been there twice in the last week and both times the Sorry We Are Closed sign was out the front of the entrance.
