We easily found parking on a Friday lunchtime, but be aware of parking restrictions on weekends. The restaurant was welcoming, with a cozy fire burning in front of us. The hostess was friendly and made excellent menu suggestions. I tried the Pork Belly on Celeriac Mash with Jus, which was delicious - the crackling was perfectly crunchy. The Calamari dish was also customized for one of our group members. For dessert, we had a tasty Lemon Tart. Unfortunately, the Chocolate Pudding was unavailable, but they offered a delicious Panacotta as an alternative. The coffee was good and the total cost for lunch, including a main, dessert, coffee, and wine, came to around $60. The leisurely and enjoyable meal made for a great birthday celebration, and there was no pressure to leave as we had experienced in a previous bad restaurant experience in Yarrambat. The outdoor seating would be lovely in better weather, and I would definitely return for another special occasion.
Had dinner last night at Wildwood.Food was amazing .. we ordered the salmon as an entree and pork belly and chicken for Mains. The sticky date pudding for dessert was also amazing.Service was great .. food did however take a while to arrive but was well worth the wait.
Came for dinner with friends . Nice food. 3 of us had flathead & my wife the gnocci, she said it was really good. Plenty of room around the table. Family friendly. This restaurant has been here for many years with different owners along the journey. 40 years ago it was called the brown house restaurant. Good for us as it is close to home.
Dinner with the family to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday at Wildwood as it has been a family favourite for several years but this time, it just fell flat. The service was disorganised with 3 waitresses approaching us, no one seeming to know what was going on, finally one took charge and took the orders for the entrees and these arrived soon after, calamari was delicious, so too the pulled pork croquettes but the garlic bread was soggy and tasteless. The mains arrived after a good break and the steak and veal were delicious, the two pork bellies, while cooked well, were under seasoned and just tasted of nothing, very disappointing as this dish has been a family favourite for several years. Our daughter had beef cannelloni, which while tasty, did not have any sauce and looked like it had been heated in the microwave! The bill came in at under $250 for 3 entrees and 5 mains, 2 beers and 2 cokes, ok but not remarkable, we were disappointed and let down as we have had much better food and service there before.
We had a great meal at this restaurant, enjoying the garlic bread and gnocchi in a charming atmosphere. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable for the delicious food.
