They don't have gluten free bread, but the sausage is gluten free, so if you just forgo the toast this is still a cheap, basic breakfast. How can you go wrong with a coffee included? The hosts are friendly and chat to the customers as they bring out the food, you can sit outside in the warm air, and go for a short walk to the beach later to shake the food down. Plus, the bonus was being able to slyly give my bacon fat to Ivan, the three legged dog, who obviously belonged to some other diners but was doing the rounds of the tables smooching for food. They do other dishes, but the basic breakfast is the best value I think.
So good! Very friendly service, amazing prices. We had eggs benny, big bfast, two kids bfasts, 2 coffees and a juice for $37! Not many places offer a decent kids bfast so was impressed.! Very nice coffee. Highly recommend. Not fancy food but more home cooked style. No complaints here you won't find better at these prices.
I am a local and since I have discovered this little gem at Mermaid Beach, I have become a regular. The food is good, especially the eggs benedict. Now I'm not talking a la carte menu, just well cooked, tasty home style meals and good coffee. The family that run the café are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The prices are well below other cafes with similar menus. I pay only $8 for eggs benedict here in 2016 now that is amazingly good value. If you are looking for a tasty breakfast for yourself or the whole family in a happy atmosphere at an affordable price, then this is the place for you. There is plenty of parking as well.
On our third day of holidaying in the Gold Coast, we were trying to find a place called Cafe Indulgence.. we ended up at the Olive Tree instead. <br/ <br/ Obviously a small family run business, we were happy with their prices, and service. The older lady who took our order was very friendly, and happy to have a chat. The man who I assume was her son cooked the orders promptly, and bought everything out to our tables which was a bonus at a small cafe like that. <br/ <br/ We each ordered foccaccias and banana smoothies, both living up to our expectations. Not brilliant food but just a nice place to sit and have breakfast before heading into the hustle and bustle of the city.
Been here about 5 times but it’s been 12 months since last visit, it’s an interesting place, you order food at a window, menu is pretty good, we had 2 bruschetta and a black tea and medium latte. $38. You give your name and when the food is ready they call out your name. I would say the coffee takes a little too long compared to other places close by, and you need to pay attention as your name is called for your coffee then called again when your food is ready. Your sitting out in an open courtyard so you have to listen up to your name. The food comes in a box or wrapped in paper with disposable cutlery and your encouraged to pick your own rubbish and bin it. The coffee was quite small for a medium I would say. The staff is friendly and you can bring your dog. The Bruschetta was a good presentation, too good for a box.
