I will definitely come back. I'm not sure why their rating is so low, and I don't understand why people complain about it being oily when they order fish and chips.
I decided to try this restaurant despite the mixed reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. When I placed a phone order, I was told it would take 20 minutes, so I arrived 25 minutes later, only to wait an additional 15 minutes. Once I got home and dug into my food, the grilled flake looked like it had no batter and had just been tossed on the grill. The fish itself tasted like cardboard, and the potato cakes and chips were excessively oily. In the end, I had to throw everything away, resulting in a loss of $27. I sincerely hope that anyone reading this avoids the same mistake I made, and I encourage the owners to take steps to improve in the future.
This charming little fish and chip shop is a fantastic hidden gem. The chips are especially delightful, boasting a wonderful crunch, the perfect level of cooking, and a fluffy interior. Don't forget to ask for chicken salt; it really elevates the meal!
I ordered from Blue Wave tonight, and it was the worst fish and chips I've ever had. The food was so greasy that when I picked up the chips, the oil ran down my fingers. I didn't even bother trying the fish!
The place has the vibe of a sneaky back street from a Hollywood action film, especially after the S. family opened an Eastlink through Mable Park. But hats off to the staff—great job! The fish and chips are fantastic!
