Great food, great service in a beautiful garden setting outside. Our hosts made an effort to accommodate our impromptu stop. The garden is closed in winter. Reservation strongly recommended.
As noted by another reviewer, this restaurant is now known as 'L 'Assiette Vallee de l 'Aube ' My wife and I visited on short notice in October 2010, whilst staying at a nearby B&B in Arcis. There is little to add from the comments of the other reviewers. It provided an excellent regional menu, well priced for both food and wine. The welcome was great, and the atmosphere inside, cosy. Whilst we dined at night, in the dark, the building is an old timbered house in beautiful grounds. Very popular with the locals. We would certainly visit again, if in the area.
This restaurant has long been family run and we found the service to be extremely good. The building itself is of timbered style with beautiful well tended gardens. Inside there is a warm friendly atmosphere, with lots of character. The menu was varied with excellent foie gras and daily specialties of fresh fish as well as puddings to die for. It was a little way from the Chambre D'Hote where we stayed but cetainly worth the journey if you are in search of a gourmet meal in lovely surroundings. It is advisable to book as this is a popular destination.
What a great way to spend a summer lunch. The restaurant takes some finding but is really worth the effort. The gardens are lovely and I will save the address in order to return.
