I travel a lot! This is by far the poor indian food I've ever had. It is not fresh! I complained but did not bother! I recon, there are better indian...
I ate once in the restaurant which is more expensive than take away, then i ordered from some friend apartment for people. They were all happy with the food.
We tried Ganesha as it was close to our hotel, and as Brits spoiled with choice of Indian food at home, assumed this would be a safe bet. Our welcome was pleasant enough, and no complaint about the service. But the food is not worthy...of comparison even with a local takeaway at home. The popodom it's self was fine, but the accompaniments left lacking. A pseudo chutney which was heavy on spices and chilli but low on refinememt, and vegetables left limp and stranded in a pool of uncooked Masala suspension. Vegetable pakoras were batter and only softened with lashings of yoghurt. There was a moment of potential redemption through an acceptable maligatawny soup, which we could have tasted more clearly were out tongues not paralysed from the chutney and one of incapacitated with hiccups. The main course was saag paneer and a chicken dish. The saag paneer was short on paneer and the chicken dish was so sweet that it was only missing a scoop of ice cream. The home made roti was pleasant and conveniently into quarters... I think a new injection of purpose and care is required here. I will always support a good Indian restaurant in Europe. But change is needed here, especially at the demanded price point. I would love to return next year to a much improved experience.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food and the prices doesn't match. I have ordered starters (Samosa and pakora), Mango lassi, Vegetable Biryani. Samosa was good but the pakoras were not fried properly and inside was raw and sticky. I asked the...lady in charge and her answer was like sometimes it happens. I was really being polite but she didn't really care about giving a proper reply. Next came the mother of disastors Vegetable Biryani, I would recommend them to rename it as raw vegetable half cooked rice. I told them politely that the vegetables were not cooked properly, she said Germans like it this way. She didn't care to give an answer. The place looks decent but very pricey for the food, the waitress (may be she is the Owner) was friendly but she didn't care about the customers. If you know about Indian food already, better stay away and try some other place. You will thank me for saving you from a terrible experience. Despite the night mare I paid them a decent tip.
