Kotobuki - Nordrhein-Westfalen

We were there for lunch with 7 people, and all were more than satisfied with their own. again

My man and I arrived at the max brown hotel on the marienstraße, put our cases on our room and made us look for a lunch. I had a few books about "111 restaurants in düsseldorf" and the "gutscheinbuch düsseldorf", which contains many restaurant descriptions and vouchers. we aimed at one of the well-known Japanese restaurants and accidentally saw a menu hanging in front of a rather inconspicuous restaurant on the marienstraße. we thought it was closed, but still tried the door and the luck opened it. most of the tables were already occupied by Japanese guests (a good sign, we thought) and we were greeted by a very friendly waiter who had us tee. we chose two lunch menus of 10,90 euro each – a bowl of beef tofu stew with a fried egg and a lachsfilet. to the main dishes there was a small nudelsalate with mayonnaise dressing, in which there boiled green, a Miso soup and steamed rice. the portions were right for lunch to serve as a nutritious basis for a roundabout through the surrounding supermarkets. I am so glad that I didn't go to the well-known restaurants in the japanerviertel, but here I took my birthday dinner. We will definitely come back here again when we visit düsseldorf again.

In contrast to some other japaner in düsseldorf, kotobuki is not a lifestyle restaurant but a restaurant that is quite simply furnished. the food has always tasted us, the personal is friendly, the price-performance ratio convinces us.

The restaurant is located on a side street of the east road, away from the shiny, glamorous and well-known restaurants of the “Japanese City”. the menu is simple, there is no sushi or sashimi, only good old Japanese home cooking. most dishes can be served as a cheap menu. Although it is not a place for a romantic candle-light dinner, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to taste authentic Japanese home cooking at an unbeatable price. we will definitely come back.
