When all clubs close, there is Ludwig to save the night Good music, nice atmosphere. You can get a coffee and something to eat at in the morning. Great way to finish the night in Altstadt.

This was a great tavern we visited as we were bimbling around the Old Town and what a great little find. The interior is awesome,it's got a traditional pine look that is so prevalent in the pubs and bars throughout Dusseldorf ,fantastic decor and furnishings...and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar,it's Old Town location adds to the alore of this bar and all in all its just one amazing bar to visit. We were here on a Friday night and this place was busy ,we got a nice beer each and opted to have Schlösser alt and these were served in tip top condition,we just chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in here. I love the variety of of alt beers available throughout Dusseldorf and Schlösser alt is a particular favourite of mine. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and for a first time visit we were very impressed with the great bar. Ludwigs Bier Und Brot Beer and Bread is easy to locate on Mertensgasse in an area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants and some amazing architecture and a major tourist destination. A great beer bar and well worth checking out.

What you call kneipe: here locals meet a beer, and in the middle of the loud düsseldorf this is a very German place. one of the most important advantages - the bartenders are real followers and fans of their work. bravo!
