Mariah's - NORFOLK ISLAND

The restaurant at our accommodation exceeded our expectations with incredibly delicious meals. The atmosphere was cozy with a bar and a fireplace for chilly evenings.

We had an incredible dinner last Saturday night at Mariah's. Of course there is that amazing view but the food is just as good. The beef cheeks are out of this world. Great service, everything on the menu is wonderful and the atmosphere is lovely.

We'd heard that the menu had changed and the food was worth a try. It was. The complimentary breads with smoked and truffles butters were heaven - I could have eaten the whole lot on my own (with no room for dinner) - I would love the recipe for them!My oldest grandson chose fish and crispy potatoes. He declared it the best fish he'd had. And he loved the potatoes; so did we!Entree shared with my daughter was Smoked Beef with beetroot, mustard and basil mousse, salt roasted tomatoes and ginger and lemongrass dressing. This was 'OMG' good and we found it can be had as a main at lunch. I will be back next tripMy main - Chicken roulade: Nuts and pork filled breast wrapped in proscioutto with fresh herbs and spices served on a pea risotto. ExcellentMy daughters main: Red Wine Toffee Lamb cooked with pink peppercorns and served over Kale and mash. Excellent (Yes, I tried some!)There is no dessert menu on the site so I have forgotten what the dessert was but I know we enjoyed it but the real stars were the entree and mains. There was a high chair for the baby and options for the kids. We certainly went home fully satisfied with our meals. We had only been to Mariahs once before for a smorgasbord meal which I had enjoyed but my daughter did not as she is not a bit seafood eater and it was a seafood meal but the a la carte menu had a small but decent variety and the quality was great.

Wow oh wow, you will not leave here feeling hungry. The prawn pasta was like awaking my tastebuds. Thank you. This place is a must at lunchtime as the view is breathtaking
