We did not have the pleasure of visiting The Jolly Roger when we were on Norfolk Island 15 years ago, but if it had been there, we would have definitely gone every night. We had an incredible evening filled with great entertainment, delicious food, and top-notch service from the efficient staff. The restaurant was bustling with customers. Matty and his guitar kept us captivated throughout the night. If you're looking for a memorable night out, make sure to visit this place.
I visited the restaurant with a large group and we all had a great time with the delicious food and entertainment. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a good experience.
What can I say, from the minute we walked in the door we were treated like royalty. The staff were amazingly efficient, warm and friendly. The meals were all of very generous servings and came out very quickly and tasted awesome all made from the local produce. We couldn't fault the meals what so ever. The owner of the restaurant was very lovely, he came over an introduced himself to us and made an effort to get to know who we were, where we were from and made us feel like we were old friends. He was also the nights entertainment and he was fantastic! He played many different instruments and sang. As we had a 9yr old with us he made sure that before we left that my 9yr old got to see him play every instrument, as a result now my son wants to play a harmonica. Although the songs he played were unknown to the kids, the kids still really enjoyed themselves and were tapping and dancing in their seats along with the music. On leaving the owner once again took time out of his busy night to come out and say good night and have another chat. I have to say I have never experienced such a wonderful dining experience as I did at the Jolly Roger. I highly recommend paying this place a visit I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
When you visit Norfolk Island, The Jolly Roger is a 'must not miss' place to go. Excellent quality food, great hospitality and Matty Zarb is as good a one man entertainer as you would see anywhere in the world. A real taste of Norfolk in one wonderful package.
