Blanca Food And Wind - Norfolk

Blanca is a lovely hidden neighborhood gem... Simplest description is French inspired comfort food. Small funky place...casual dining with an upscale flair.

My wife and I come here about once per month. We love this place. The menu changes frequently so there is usually something new to try. I?ve never had anything other than a great meal here.

Saying Blanca Food Wine is the best restaurant in Norfolk is an understatement. I?d give more stars if I could. This place has a special atmosphere. I can?t say I have one favorite dish because every dish I?ve tried has been delicious. The real question you ask yourself when you get here is: ?Am I in the mood for pasta, chicken, steak, fish or duck?? (Really depending on the menu. You can?t go wrong. Let?s just say if I could lick the plate in public I would do it here.

I had roasted chicken over polenta with pesto, it was extraordinarily good, best meal I've had in a restaurant in some time. House green salad was excellent as well. Warm olives to start. None of the descriptions will do justice to the excellent ingredients and perfect execution.

Food is delicious with a varying menu. We sat at the counter similar to a chef's table where the kitchen opens up behind the counter. The prices are a little high but I think reasonable but the food quality. My wife and I choose to eat tapas style sharing our plates with multiple courses and choosing to share an entree. The wine selection is ample though the wine we chose was out but plenty more to choose from and with a nice price range. The dessert options were limited
