Carlos Soul Food - Norfolk

I ordered the Meatloaf dinner with Collard Greens and Green Beans. The food was delicious! The Meatloaf was full of meaty flavor and was covered with rich tasting brown gravy and onions. I was disappointed because they were out of many of the foods I wanted to taste which I think really test the quality of soul food cooking like Yams, Cabbage and Cornbread. The decor is non-existing and most people order to go anyway. My brother ordered a Fish Sandwich and fries. The fish came on two slices of white bread and the fries are the typical frozen variety. He was not impressed. My desert was the only one they had prepared, Strawberry Cake, even though there were more on the menu. Every bite was filled with Strawberry flavor and it appeared to have had real berries in the mix. The cook/owner was very knowledgeable of her food and was very friendly. I recommend you give a try on a takeout bases.
