Oro Azteca Mexican - Norfolk

This restaurant is one of the closest places to eat for me and my husband, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I almost always get the same thing here, and every single time it's been amazing. The restaurant is always clean, the staff is always so kind, and the food is always spectacular. I haven't had a bad experience yet and I've been here around 10 to 15 times since I've moved to Norfolk. This place is our quick pick on nights I don't feel well or don't feel like cooking. Imo, one of the best places to get food around here. 2+ year update in 2024: This place is still our go to. I've been here so many times and will miss it when I move soon. Only a handful of times did we ever have any issues, and they were all very minor (like forgetting an a la carte item or something small). Always felt very welcomed, and service was always fast even when they were busy.

Came here for lunch today. Had the fajitas. They looked and tasted like they had been sitting for a good while before they were brought to my table. The waitress assigned to me was polite, but fell short on the attentive scale, although the customer sitting in front of me received plenty. And they really weren’t busy. This was about 1:45p. After I finished eating, I sat there for a little while waiting for her to check me out. It didn’t seem to be any time soon so I got up and started heading toward the register, (which no one was there), when a totally different waitress rushes up behind me asking if I was ready to pay (almost as if she thought I was going to walk out without doing so). I’m not sure how I feel about this place. Not sure if I’ll ever go back. Just figured I’d share my experience.

Service was good, food was horrible. My enchiladas were put in the microwave, came out to me in a hot plate.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant. Most affordable locally. No waiting for seating. Always well staffed and very friendly. Feels like family run place. We drive in from another city.

I love coming in here for lunch. They are fast and the food is delicious.
