I was disappointed that the restaurant was supposed to close at 7 PM according to their posted hours, but they actually closed at 6:40 PM.
I ordered a slow-cooked lamb wrap, and it was disappointingly dry and flavorless, not to mention burnt. It was clear that this should have been noticed during preparation. They need to improve their standards or risk losing customers. This experience was simply unacceptable.
I do work in hospitality so bear that in mind during this review, I can excuse bad service because I GET IT.But this Sunday driving into this servo, squished between Macca 's and Red Rooster, I was so excited to see an Oliver 's. Gimmie that Vegan/Healthier option yes! And on this quiet Sunday arvo, the two most frazzled workers made me my saddest meal. And I wish that was all I had to say.First it took 5 minutes of being the only in person customer to order, any time I tried to make eye contact I didn 't even get an acknowledgement, a be with you shortly . Just straight up ignored. Then another long wait after ordering a single Hot box that I really wanted to try. I tried to chalk it up to the girls trying to make the food good, I can wait for good food. I stood patiently as I saw the person with my order from RR after me and get their food before me. It 's ok, this food will be better for me I kept telling myself.Once finally seated, excited and bursting to finally eat, I open the box to a tiny, slapped together, excuse of a meal . Uh Oh.The first bite told me all I needed to know: this meal was a mistake. The edamame was cold, hard and impossible to chew. I gave up on them. Then the next, a measly hand (and I say, child 's hand) full of sweet potato fries. Burnt black on the underside. Only saved by my little garlic aioli dipping sauce. Finally, hesitantly, I reach for the Oil Burger. She is...sad looking. I open the top because I don 't see any aioli, and there is, about 1tsp of that sauce the picture promised was bursting through the bun edges. At least the spinach looked fresh.I took a bite, turned to my sister, and almost cried. It was bad. That was the worst vegan patty I 've ever put in my mouth 8 years of being vegan. I get why people don 't like plant based food now. Food like this. An almost $20 option was THIS.At this point I 'm running late, and honestly if I harass these workers I 'm scared they 'll just combust. Plus it took so long for my first box to be made I really couldn 't afford the time for a remake or refund. I eat half the burger before a stomach ache made its announcement. That 's it, I 'm done. I throw that box into the bin where it found a better home then my stomach. Regretted not buying that pre-made burrito and some coffee. And then was sick at home. Now I don 't know if this was just me being carsick, but this meal definately tasted worse coming back up. And now I 've lost quite a bit of faith in this certain Oliver 's, or rather, I 'm definitely scared to try anything new and not premade there again. Please review your vegan options! And I have no clue what that edamame was but im still convinced it was 50% plastic.
The service from the guy working today was exceptional. Friendly and engaging, he overcame the difficulties of a faulty Eftpos machine well. The coffee tastes great too.
