Love Penny Hill! The atmosphere just draws you in soon as you walk through the door. All the staff a very friendly. Our waiter was very attentive, he made sure we had full glasses and our food was brought to the table in record time. The beef fajitas are Deeelicious! We've been there quite a few times and have never been disappointed.

This is normally a pretty good place for lunch. Today, we had a new server who really should look into another line of work. Not only did he get our order wrong (he had to return to the table three times to ask us what we had ordered , but then he gave us checks that were not accurate. We paid them. Then he caught us as we were walking out the door to tell us we had to come back and pay more! A whole $4. I am happy to pay what I owe, but if you screw up the customer?s check and they pay, then the error is on you. So we spoke with the owner about the poor service. She was apologetic and gave us the lunches for free. (I would have gladly paid in full. That?s the only reason I did not rate them any lower.

I have enjoyed Penny Hill at least a 1/2 dozen times, especially the green chili burger, until my visit today. Expecting the same high quality I 've received before, I was totally disappointed. The cook apparently took the char to heart and prepared my burger the same way. I 've never had a crispy burger before and I hope that was my last. I won 't quietly consume inedible food again and will have to think hard about returning. Today 's date 9/26/22 should be noted by the mgmt and someone talk to the lunch cook on duty. Explain to him crunchy burgers aren 't generally considered delicious.

Like the atmosphere, wait staff was great. Fun place to visit just don't go if you want a burger cooked less than well done. The cook staff is incapable of this feat. Manager present was not very seasoned and had numerous excuses by the second well done burger ordered medium rare). Don't feel it is unrealistic to expect something cooked within one level of doneness when your paying 13.00 for the burger. This is my only, though significant complaint.

I go just for the Ahi tuna sandwich. It is seared and less than cooked through, just like it should be. Fantastic! The rest of their menu is solid all over. The owners are food people more than bar owners, but I never complained about their pours, either. Try the pan roasted green beans. I have never had beans like them at any other place. The spuds are huge. The burgers are creative. I love the French dip! It?s all good!
