Yamato Japanese Steakhouse - Norman

Make sure you have reservations on Friday and Saturday nights. Good food, fun atmosphere. Not fast but it's supposed to be a slow, enjoyable dinner.

Although typically good they were way off tonight. Ordered sushi only to find out 39 minutes later they were out of sushi rice and it would be another 20 minutes. Really?!!! Chef must have been his first night no attempt at all to entertain, then burned salmon, scallops and had a steak that wasn't even rare (and I like it medium rare, so a little under done is fine with me). Really sad part was that we were at a table with 4 that were here for the first time. Sadly, they won't be back one didn't even get their steak at all.

Yummy!!. Does not look like much on the outside BUT looks can be deceiving! Very clean and decorative inside! Food is delicious! Service is always great!! I eat here at least once sometimes twice a month! They have the best fried rice! Taste great every time I eat here! Yamato is my favorite place to eat Hibachi!!

I love this place. The food was awesome, the staff was great. The chef was very friendly and personable! loved the experience!
