We ordered their specials of the day, a potato and bacon soup and the Pan Seared NL Cod. Our friend also ordered a plate of muscles. We got served some bread with butter while we waited for our meals. 1. I loved the potato bacon soup. Forgot to take a picture of it but it was a decent amount. 2. The plate of cod seemed like a small serving but there was quite a bit in there. I will post a picture of this. 3. I'm not a muscles person but my friend and my husband liked it a lot. I forgot to take a picture of this also but there were lots of muscles on that plate. The prices were on the high side but it was expected because a place that requires a reservation normally is very fancy looking and this place definitely was! We felt VERY underdressed in our shorts, t-shirts and hiking shoes. The staff were really friendly and if I came back to this place, I'd definitely revisit this restaurant!
Always a wonderful experience. The wine list is amazing. Food is excellent. Service is second to none. My favourite resturant!!
Enjoyed the view. Service was prompt and friendly. The salmon and the chicken were tasty. Plan on returning.
After a week of overcooked seafood this was a refreshing change..excellent, perfectly cooked very fresh mussels in a tomato garlic sauce for a very reasonable price. A nice little amuse bouche of salt cod bandade. Chefs special was a panko crusted baked cod, again cooked perfectly (as in, just cooked through, fresh and juicy. Rib eye was cooked just as ordered with a rich demi.
Apparently the only openings the restaurant had when we checked into the inn (that Chantarelles is in) was at 8:00 and later. So we had a late supper. When we showed up they were out of scallops, duck, and only had one salmon left. And so it begins... Chanterelles cocktail: rum, grenadine, fresh lime juice. Well that just tasted like rum. The bread they brought out was just that. Bread. Not fresh baked bread. Not even warmed bread. Just bread. Yay. Some sort of Mushroom Vegetarian Spagetti. Wifey didn't mind it, but it was fairly bland. Daily Seafood Selection: Panko Crusted Pan Seared Cod. Nothing special; a bit too fishy tasting and not quite hot enough. And to end it all off, the debit machine didn't even accept chip cards. Oh just bill it to your room that's not a problem for me, but what about anybody who isn't staying at the inn? Skip it.
