restaurant located in the heart of the city. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a touch of traditional Peruvian decor. However, the service was slow and the food was mediocre. I ordered the ceviche and it was bland and lacking in flavor. The prices were also a bit high for the quality of the food. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at Chan Chan and probably won't be returning anytime soon.

Wonderful experience. We did the 3rd banquet and it was lovely. All food was full of flavour and just melted in the mouth! The pork belly is an absolute must! Best I've ever had!!!We were one table of 3, so it seemed to be a quiet night... but it was a Tuesday so that's expected.Service was amazing, so helpful and happy to explain the menu.We all left satisfied, but certainly weren't ready to explode.I would definitely recommend to a friend!

I consider myself fortunate to have discovered this hidden gem in Newcastle! The staff were incredibly friendly and our waiter suggested a delightful sparkling wine from Argentina that perfectly matched our tastes (dry with a lovely flavor). We opted for the Machu Pichu banquet and each course was superb! It was difficult to choose a favorite, though the ceviche received the most praise. We left feeling satisfied and everyone in our party agreed that we would definitely return in the future.

I work quite near Chan Chan and despite the interesting sounding menu have been reluctant to eat here. So when friends suggested it for dinner I was a little nervous.I was more than pleasantly surprised to find that the food was fantastic. Every dish we ordered was great and I'll happily eat here again.The reason for my initial reluctance? I have always held the belief that you can tell the hygiene of a restaurant or cafe by how clean it's entry and front window is. Chan Chan's street front is filthy so I'm happy to report they seem to be an exception. Would suggest to the manager though that a good clean of the front of the restaurant would not go astray.

We had dinner for two and ordered the ceviche, potatoes, spatchcock and alpaca ribs (that's right). Everything we had was delicious! The alpaca ribs were on the special board and were my highlight. The wine list was full of South American wine. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and provided us with exceptionally warm service. We had been meaning to come to Chan Chan for a long time and the only disappointment I have is that I didn't come sooner. Dessert was also delicious.
