The prices of the food are now comparable to the Counting House in Glasgow, which was previously one of the most expensive restaurants in Scotland. The pizza I ordered was overcooked and the bacon topping was burnt. I tried to order the all-day brunch and asked to swap the chips for bread and butter, but I was told it wasn't possible. This is strange because every other Wetherspoons I have been to has allowed this. It's a shame because I always enjoyed dining at the paddle steamer.
I ordered a Gin and Tonic at the restaurant and had a negative experience with Manager Lee. He was rude and unhelpful when I tried to address an issue with my drink. It was clear he was on a power trip over a simple G&T. His refusal to communicate calmly and passive-aggressive behavior left a bad impression. The lack of good customer service and unwillingness to be helpful was disappointing. It's evident that the restaurant lacks good customer service and does not have the best interests of the customers or company in mind.
Manager requires more training urgently Shift manager tonight not able to deal with any complaint or criticism. Awful customer service from someone who obviously requires much much more training before being left in charge sadly.
My partner and I decided to end our wonderful September weekend by heading to the paddle steamer Largs for breakfast. We both ordered the traditional breakfast, but were disappointed to find that some of the items were served cold. Additionally, the coffee machine had issues, which was frustrating for us as we were hungry campers. We hope that these issues can be addressed and resolved for future visits.
Great location and good menu choices. Guy on the bar outrageously overworked hence tables not being cleared or wiped. The food was cold when it came so it wasn't enjoyable even though the ingredients were good quality. Food had taken a long time to come so didn't bother asking for it to be reheated. Put more staff on and be fair to those on shift, run ragged.
