This was a very good restaurant and very accessible to the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. We ate at the Palm Tree grille for a pre- performance dinner. The Embassy Suites shuttle gave us a ride to and from the Performing Arts Center. We were not even staying at that hotel.
We enjoyed our meal here. I would not consider this venue fine dining or upscale. The food was good. Our server did not seem very experienced but she was pleasant.
My wife and I had reservations and were promptly seated. I had requested an out of the way table in terms of location, and that was honored without me asking. We have been to this restaurant many times over many years before North Charleston Performing Arts shows, and the food and service have always been excellent. If you are going to this restaurant for a 730 show, you should arrive at 515-530 pm to give the restaurant time to prepare your dishes so you can be finished by 700 pm. To their credit this is not a fast food place. I did reduce my overall rating slightly as the waitress did not stop by often enough and I had to ask for things a couple of times, but received them promptly; the restaurant was definitely busy with show patrons. The waitess was friedly and professional. The food has always been top notch; a definite surprise since a hotel restaurant . We tried the cheese plate as an appetizer this time; excellent in both presentation and taste. This restaurant is a gem!
We ate here prior to an event at the Performing Arts Center. It was super convenient to park and eat here. The food was better than I had expected and the free bottle of wine with our play tickets was a bonus. I was disappointed in the seating. I almost had to beg to not be seated directly behind the hostess stand. The restaurant was empty and I was told the other seats were for those with reservations (I had a reservation I had made earlier in the week). By the time we left 90 min later the restaurant only had 3 other tables sat at it. I'm not sure what the big issue was with the table??? For the convenience I would go back when I attend another event nearby.
