I had a beef roast and the beef was incredibly tender and there was so much of it! It was all delicious. My partner had the vegetarian curry which he really enjoyed too. Even our drinks were very good.Everything was lovely and hot and we didn't have to wait long at all, the lady who served us was very pleasant and friendly, we will definitely be back.
Excellent cafe well prepared home made food clean courteous pots of tea not just cups excellent roast and pie plus sweets and tea for under twenty four pounds better value and food than across the road at Wetherspoons please visit you won’t be disappointed
Really nice to go back to a ‘traditional’ cafe rather than the fancy modern ones that are popping up. We did go a bit later on in the afternoon so shouldn’t have expected everything to be available but there wasn’t much left available that was on the menu. If we’d known before we sat down and tried to order we probably would have gone elsewhere however what we did eventually order was really nice and I’d definitely go back but earlier in the day.
We chose to come to this cafe from great reviews.. Visited 23/03/23 we went for breakfast, and are tourists to the area, and staying at one of the local campsites! Our visit was of 2 adults and 2 children, 2 x full breakfast and 2x sausage, hash brown and beans.. food came and served great, hot and just as requested!! And all for £23 fantastic! ALTHOUGH Half way through our meal a customer (elderly male on own) had enjoyed his breakfast and left the cafe.. a couple of minutes later the staff realised/thought he’d left without paying.. one of the staff members left the cafe and then returned with the elderly gentleman, he seemed confused as to being questioned on the non payment and proceeded to protest his innocence and insist he did pay the £5 owed… This then lead to the gentleman being completely embarrassed as this was not a quiet discussion.. another customer then got involved as he was witness to this customer paying and agreed that the gentlemen had paid! He then even tried to explain the reason as to why there wasn’t a five pound note in the till was because he was given it as his change to which the staff member refused to accept this… her words were that she doesn’t believe that he paid but she’s not falling out over £5, she’s too busy for this and walked off and went back into the kitchen and remained there!… This customer to me seemed as though he is a regular customer and eats at this cafe ‘week in week out’!!! I DO HOPE THAT WHEN YOU CASH UP YOUR TILL TONIGHT AND SEE THAT YOU ARE NOT £5 DOWN FOR THE BREAKFAST YOU INSISTED THIS POOR MAN HADN'T PAID FOR THE NEXT TIME HE VISITS THEN HIS BREAKFAST IS ON YOU!!!!!!!! Unfortunately I do believe that the customer will return as I say I feel he is a regular.. but I and anyone I know will be told to avoid this place like the plague… you definitely need to respect your customer more especially your regular customers!!!!
After being let down by another local establishment despite a booking, Harriets was more than happy to cater for our party of 12 for a Sunday breakfast. Hats off to the lady running the cafe, on her own, for us all as well as other customers already there. Nothing was too much, and all served with a smile. Thank you Harriets!
