The roasts were served on large plates with just the right amount, and the vegetables and potatoes were delicious. The only downsides were that many of the seats in the bar area were uncomfortable without backs, which may not be suitable for all age groups looking for a nice dining experience. Additionally, the small car park fills up quickly, so it may be necessary to park further down the road.
Always a busy restaurant, we have been coming to the Livesey over a few years now and it goes from strength to strength. We called with friends on a Thursday evening, the bar was busy with good humoured banter and the restaurant was warm and friendly. Served by Jo, I had the chilli prawns starter followed by sirloin steak, others had the venison which I was informed was to ‘die for’ and I was assured the filet steak was delicious. We are blessed in having such a great pub in the area, without doubt, it is one of the best.
The food and service were excellent, as always. The pub is gorgeous and the restaurant offers high-quality dishes. I will definitely be returning soon.
It has been a while since our last visit to the Livesey Arms, and we were pleased to see that it was still in top form. We had a reservation for 6:30pm and were initially concerned that we might be the only diners there. However, the car park was almost full and the restaurant was bustling with guests. The food was excellent, especially my Timothy Taylor's Landlord ale. The venison main course was tasty, with a delightful sauce, and the Tarte Tatin dessert had the perfect balance of sweetness and freshness. The only downside was that the dining room was not quite warm enough. Despite this, we had a great experience on Saturday 21st and will definitely be returning, and recommending it to others.
We celebrated my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary, the whole experience as always was excellent, service, quality food and atmosphere. We visit regularly and always find Livesey Arms do the best Sunday lunch in the area.
