Two for lunch on a slow Wednesday afternoon. we ordered a Greek salad with huh and a grilled reuben. both dishes were cut very generously with properly prepared quality ingredients. faster friendly service for a pleasant lunch.
The diner seemed pleasant when we first arrived. they were very busy waiting with customers to pay their bills and go. we were sat and our menus were given and very patiently waited for 30 minutes to calm down the dinge. after the quantity was left, we have observed tables around us taking and delivered their drinks orders, all these tables were sitting after us. a new table was sat and his drink order was given. After the new table had received all her drinks orders, we flew the owner on the way to ask if we could also put a drink order. He immediately started screaming at us and didn't let us explain that we totally understood how busy they were and just wanted to ask. after about a minute of screaming we rose to go and the owner continued to scream when we tried to leave the space. I've never been up and left a restaurant, nor have I ever been treated like that. it is disappointing that it could not be solved better.
Always enjoy going to breakfast here and the staff is really courteous and friendly. Sausages are really the best. this cook knows how to cook eggs that is not easy. I ask for more medium and the eggs are always perfectly cooked.
Came out of Kawartha Highlands Pk. after days of paddling looking for some non-dehydrated food and remembered seeing Honeys Diner on way up. My partner and I were greeted with high-energy upon entering and the experience only got better! We needed directions on how to...get through the GTA area and soon there was three family members at our table assisting...such service ! Our food arrived and it exceeded our expectations and upon leaving our waitress (Paula) handed us 2 ice cold bottles of water for our trip home. Such a wonderful experience that is a credit to the warmth of this family-run Diner. Thank you for making our five hour drive home so much more pleasant. Mike Lori
