The staff was friendly and Immy made us feel very welcome. This restaurant may not be fancy, but their food is honestly fresh and tasty.
We just had a wonderful Christmas lunch at Roots. The soup and side dish were both delicious, and the mint cakes were incredible. Despite the busyness of the holiday season, the service was excellent. This was the best lunch we've ever had.
This cafe has declined significantly from its previous quality. The atmosphere is cold and unwelcoming, and the toilet is dirty and poorly maintained. There is only one toilet for the entire establishment, which appears to be cleaned infrequently. It was difficult to manage with two toilets before, especially when cyclists stopped by. The cafe is in desperate need of renovation and improvement. Despite trying the avocado toast, we were disappointed and will not be returning. I have given it two stars out of generosity in hopes of providing constructive criticism.
My first visit. short Sunday morning refreshment stop, after a trip from the ribble valley. good quality freshly cooked breakfast sandwiches, and pleasant coffee. 3 of us enjoyed what we had. reasonable price, and polite, friendly service. the owner even brought me 50p out that I was overpaid. pleasant garden area to the rear, full of cyclists at this time, and much safer place to leave the bikes. I'm sure I'm back.
I love the coffees in roots and the reasonably priced, good food. We often drive or cycle out here and always recieve a warm welcome from the staff and owner who are very friendly. It is important to support these local places who are finding...it hard with all the restrictions. As an extra plus there is a giftshop just opposite which has some unusal and lovely items well worth a look.
