The food was consistently amazing and the service was excellent as well. We opted for the three-course menu and tried their special, the Pheasant breast, for our main course, which was delicious. We will definitely be returning soon.
Eight years ago, my wife and I stayed at the Beechwood Hotel under previous ownership. We were impressed by the prestigious building, beautiful grounds, and historical significance. Upon our recent visit, we were pleased to see numerous tasteful improvements made by the new owners. The hotel is immaculate, with spotlessly clean areas and elegant Art Deco decor. The menus were beautifully covered and the food, sourced locally, was of excellent quality with generous portions. We enjoyed afternoon cream tea on the lawn, a perfectly cooked four-course dinner by top chefs, and a filling breakfast. The hotel staff, including Jess and Phoebe, were outstanding. We also appreciated the specialty marmalade, delicious Lobster, wide selection of wines, and convenient parking facilities. Overall, the Beechwood Hotel is a gem, and we look forward to returning for one of their themed evenings in the future.
We had an amazing 7-course tasting menu at Beechwood restaurant tonight to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. The restaurant has a charming country house atmosphere and is only a five-minute drive from North Walsham town center. The decor includes some lovely art deco furnishings. The menu was a great value at £70 per person, and my wife enjoyed the wine flight for just £30, which included two glasses of red, two glasses of white, dessert, and port - all expertly paired with the food. The menu can be found on the website, but I will also share some pictures. Overall, everything was delicious and the attentive young staff did a great job explaining each dish. Highly recommended for a special evening out.
Wonderful overnight stay at this lovely boutique hotel. Met by friendly receptionist Rachel who gave us a brief overview of the hotel layout whilst her colleague took our bags to the room. The room was a delight. It was a four poster with a good sized living area and an enormous bathroom. Very airy and comfortable. We had afternoon tea and a delicious evening meal in the restaurant. The waiting staff are friendly and professional without being intrusive. The maitre d’ did a wonderful job as she worked both the evening meal and breakfast the next day. Our breakfast was fresh and individually prepared. Plenty of tea and toast. My wife had the vegetarian breakfast and I had possibly the tastiest smoked salmon and scrambled eggs I’ve ever had at breakfast. Well done to everyone, proof that properly trained and motivated locals can do hospitality. At the Beechwood they do it exceptionally well. We really enjoyed our brief stay and will definitely return.
Our group of 35 (classic car club members) just spent 3 lovely nights here. It was superb from our greeting upon arrival, the one off complimentary cream tea in the garden and the fabulous breakfasts and dinners. The staff were friendly, well presented, and attentive to everyone. Probably the best staff and hotel we have stayed in in our classic car outings. For those who would like to venture out, four of us took the train into Norwich which was only a 25 minute journey. The cathedral is worth a visit if you like that sort of thing. We went to Horsey to see the seals on the beach and also took the train from Holt to Sheringham..that too was about 25 minutes, £37-00 for two. It was a treat to come back and have pre dinner drinks in the Art Deco bar. The hotel had a special guest years ago when it was a gp surgery. Agatha Christie stayed and wrote a book here. I highly recommend.
