My server quickly took my drink order of iced tea, and we were off to a good start. Before long, I was presented with a huge basket of chips along with their version of salsa. The chips were simple, lightly salted tortilla chips, which I enjoyed. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a big fan of the salsa; it had a pasteurized tomato flavor that didn’t appeal to me. It was chilled and there was a generous amount (they even provided a carafe), and since I ate a lot of it, it couldn’t have been all that bad. I ordered the beef chimichanga, which came with refried beans and rice. I was really pleased with my choice! When my server brought out the dish, I remarked on how delicious everything looked. The plate was filled to the brim with Mexican goodness and had a wonderful aroma. The chimichanga was lightly fried and topped with just the right amount of sauce—not overly drenched. The beans were smooth and creamy, while the rice was perfectly cooked, moist but not sticky, with grains remaining separate. Throughout my meal, my server checked in on me a couple of times and brought me extra iced tea. She was friendly and efficient, and I appreciated how quickly she presented my bill. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Mi Pueblo. Aside from the salsa, I highly recommend this restaurant. It has earned a spot on my shortlist of Tex-Mex places to revisit. P.S. They have a second location on Davis Blvd, a few miles away, which I have yet to review.
We really enjoy their food; it’s great Tex-Mex, which can be hard to come by. The staff is very friendly. We often order to go so we can make our own guacamole at home, since we prefer my version the most. We recently tried another Mexican restaurant nearby, but we didn’t like it at all—so much so that we returned to Mi Pueblo just two days later. We love their charro beans, along with everything else we’ve ordered.
The service is exceptional, and the food truly embodies authentic Tex-Mex flavors. The atmosphere is quiet and family-friendly, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. Be sure to try the warm salsa as well as the regular one; both are delicious, and the chips are crisp and light.
Both Mi Pueblo locations serve the BEST Mexican food in the area! Their steak is excellent, as are the tamales and chips with salsa. Carne Asada is my favorite dish there!
I decided to push through and went a bit further inside, and it turned out to be a good choice. The clientele was a balanced mix of white and brown diners, creating a welcoming family atmosphere. The staff was entirely Hispanic. So, we settled in to eat. Here’s the breakdown: - **Chips:** 9/10 - **Salsa:** 7.5/10 - **Food (overall):** 7.2/10 - **Tortillas:** 8.4/10 (you get four per plate with no extra charge) - **Vibe/Atmosphere:** Really nice! There’s plenty of sunlight streaming in, the staff speaks both English and Spanish, and there’s a lovely patio area. It seems like white people really enjoy patios, no matter the weather. Plus, there were plenty of Spanish tunes playing to set the mood.
