We visited this little cafe within the church for the first time the other day, it looked quite quirky so we thought we would give it a try. We ordered 2 drinks straight away and waited over 25 mins before they eventually brought them over! We had ordered food at the same time, 2 panini’s. Whilst we drank our long overdue drinks and waited further for the food, we could over hear one of the staff members talking to another couple at a table, not sure if they were the owners or not but we got to hear every detail about what happened the night before about another staff member, words such as “he was hanging out his a@53” and such other delights. Another couple came in whilst we were seated and it was clear they were wanting someone to take their order, unfortunately waiter was too engrossed in his friends conversation, about what happened the previous night that he must have overlooked them. The 2 customers were waiting for atleast the same amount of time we had been waiting for drinks, that eventually they had enough got up and left. Who could blame them? I also heard one of the young waiting staff call a much older a lady customer “love” after he left I heard her say to her friend “that’s not how you address a lady” The staff in the cafe give a poor first impression and are very much lacking in basic customer service, so much so I will never return. Appalling behaviour. Can’t imagine this place will stay open for much longer.
I stopped by this amazing and unique vintage cafe for a quick drink and I didn't want to leave! It was a delightful experience for all the senses. I couldn't resist indulging in a freshly baked scone and an ice cream treat served on beautiful china plates, all while enjoying the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The cafe is decorated with tasteful retro items that are available for purchase, there was gentle music playing in the background, and the staff were all very friendly and relaxed. This place is a must-visit when in Tynemouth village, I can't wait to go back!
Situated in an old church this is a really nice vintage cafe. We had scones, lavander and an orange and cranberry flavour, and a couple of lattes. Very good scones and still warm. The surroundings are quirky and pleasant. Friendly staff. Service was a little slow, the cafe was busy but well worth the wait.
This vintage café is very small and charming. The service may be a bit slow, but it was still good overall. I particularly enjoyed the old-fashioned tea service and the delicious paninis.
