The KFC Korean roasted cauliflower was really delicious and loved by those who are not usually fans of cauliflower. The diving sauce was not too spicy for us and the spiced radishes were delicious. The Dolsot Bibimbap was hearty and really good with the chili sauce. Enjoy it from the heated stone shell is part of the fun, it would not be so pleasant if it was taken out. Everyone at the table loved the Korean veggie pancake. It was thick, chewing and full of taste. I will definitely order again and hope to expand with some more options in the future.
I was looking for Korean vegan place for looooong time and finally found it! I have cauliflower fried chicken, japchae and bibimbap. Everything was so good and delicious. Service was wonderful. I'll go back there.
Came here because we have seen the vegan options on the menu. We ordered the KFC Korean roasted chicken and tried all sauce options on the side, Korean pancakes of the Dolsot bipbimbap. The Korean fried chicken was cauliflower, the coating was thick and super crispy. Our favorite sauce was the Gochujang. It wasn't spicy at all, it was more like a sweet chilli sauce. I've had Bipbimbap before, and that wasn't too different. Our favorite dish of all was the Korean pancake - it was SO yummy! Really thick, tons of vegetables. Ultra crispy outside, but soft and friendly chew on the inside. Really delicious. We're going back to the pancake.
My partner and I have been coming from the beginning 'soft opening ' about 2 years ago*? We can always count on INCREDIBLE food. The flavours, presentation, and price points are spot on. My favourite dishes are the Yukgaejang (Spicy beef soup) , their Korean Fried Chicken (with spicy sauce) and all the lettuce wraps are all delicious with generous portions. Also the side dishes! yum. Their new menu is awesome and has information on some popular dishes which makes this place perfect for someone new to Korean cuisine. I really think there is something for every taste here. The staff are so friendly and always make us feel at home. I will continue to recommend Maru to everyone as my favourite spot to eat on the North Shore and even Vancouver. Great atmosphere, food and people, you can 't go wrong! Thank you Maru!
We tried Maru for the first time last night and the food was amazing! Everything tasted unique and so flavourful. Anyone on the North Shore, you have to try this place, also well worth the trip from Vancouver (it's a quick walk from the Seabus).
