Located in the Park and Tilford strip mall where the Save On Foods is. They currently only do take out orders. I placed my order on the phone beforehand and only waited 20 minutes. We got an order of prawn tempura, roll combo and sushi day combo. The roll combo came with a dynamite roll, California roll and spicy tuna roll. The sushi day combo came with a dynamite roll, alaskan roll and a California roll. All in all, they have decent portion sizes. But the quality is very similar to other generic Vancouver sushi joints. That being said, their prices were slightly high given what they’re serving. The sushi was done well. The tempura in the rolls were still crispy when we got home, and the fillings were generous. The prawn tempura was crunchy on the outside and the prawn still retained a good bite. Overall, I was skeptical beforehand, but it turned out alright. The restaurant itself was a bit small, but had some decor. One thing I did notice when I went in, was the floor being a bit greasy.
I went to this restaurant on New Year's Day and ordered the sashimi box, which included four types of sashimi, a spicy dynamite roll, four prawn tempura, one gyoza, and a salad. It cost $18, but was good value considering all that was included. I also liked the tea pot that was left at our table. The menu had a good variety of options to choose from.
I visited this restaurant in North Vancouver while stuck in traffic. The place is small, clean, with nice tables and chairs. The decor was decent and the menu was typical for a sushi restaurant. I didn't have high expectations but the prices were fair. I ordered the beef udon soup for $10.50 as a light and inexpensive option. The presentation was average, the portion size was decent, but the taste was incredible! The noodles were chewy and delicious, and the broth was rich and savory. The dish had more flavor than other sushi or Japanese restaurants I have tried. There was a generous amount of beef, although it was thinly sliced and slightly tough. The vegetables included were broccoli and carrots, but I would have preferred more traditional Asian vegetables. Overall, I really enjoyed the beef udon soup for the delicious broth and noodles. It was worth it and I would recommend this place for this dish.
Even if you're not a fan of tofu, you'll still love the Agedashi Tofu at this restaurant! It's one of my all-time favorite dishes, with its fresh, hot, and crispy tofu in a delicious sauce. All of the sauces are homemade and the Japanese service is excellent. This is definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants on the North Shore in my opinion.
Good menu lots of selection. Small place which was really busy, between table service and takeout. Our sushi was okay, reasonable quality. Proportion of rice to filling was a bit higher than you'd like, and there seems to be a heavy reliance on sauce drizzled over sushi. The spicy tuna in particular was so over coated with sauce that we had to scrape off gobs of two sauces (and the tuna wasn't great quality). Good for pre movie but won't be rushing back there are too many other great sushi places around.
