If you need a Caribbean food fix before your next visit, it is as close as North Vancouver. Chef Marquise creates traditional fare at Taste of Caribbean Islands restaurant, a space shared on MacKay, just behind the Hurricane Grill, with the Ethical Kitchen bakery. There are many favourites to choose from including fresh lime juice, Rotis, Jerk Chicken and of course fried Plantains. As the weather gets warmer, she BBQs on the patio outside with lots of seating. You can also catch her during the summer at the weekly Shipyards Market at the end of Lonsdale Avenue. Our huge and awesome dinners were served with lots of rice and peas and coleslaw salad. Along with the island music, it will make you want to start planning your next trip. But in the meantime, Marquise and her food are the next best things!
