Sweet Olives

I made a reservation at the hotel restaurant and mentioned that I wanted to use my Meerkat Meals discount. Unfortunately, I was not informed over the phone that the discount could not be used on the date I had booked, and that there would be a limited menu available. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were quickly seated at a table and given a choice between two tables. However, we were not told that we needed to order drinks and food at the bar, so we waited for table service that never came. After realizing this, we placed our order and waited a long time for our starters to arrive, which were delicious. The main courses arrived quickly, but were disappointing for the price. My medium rare steak was cooked medium well, which I did not enjoy, and the sides were lacking in quality. The only dish that was decent was the child's chicken nuggets and chips. The staff was unattentive when we needed additional drinks or sauces, and the overall service was lacking. After expressing my concerns, the staff were apologetic and removed the steak from the bill. Although the manager and staff were friendly and willing to help, the overall experience was not up to par. Given the current circumstances, I might have been more understanding, but with only one other table in the restaurant, better attention to detail should have been given. The staff was accommodating, but we will not be returning to this restaurant.

Wonderful homemade dishes, elegantly presented and incredibly delicious. The entire menu is offered starting at 4:30, perfect for those who prefer not to dine too late.

The hotel is clean warm and comfortable, perhaps a lick of paint is needed here and there. The one thing that makes this hotel stand out from the crowd, is it staff from the ladies in house keeping to the girls that run the bar and reception all are so friendly and nothing is to much trouble. I will be back see you the El.

The meal this time was not good at all, I was very disappointed. The service from the table staff was great, but the food was terrible and lacked creativity. The food was not tasty, and it took a long time to be served despite our order being placed weeks in advance. It was a real disappointment compared to our last visit. The lunch was heavy and unappetizing.

Me and my colleague stopped here for a bite to eat after a long drive as we are working in the area. The starter was good, but the Rump of lamb was awful. Dry, bland, frozen veg and tasteless crushed potatoes. The waiter was extremely awkward and could not answer any questions I had about the menu, didn't know what ciders were on draught, didn't know what the cheesecake of the day is when the menu states to ask our server for the cheesecake of the day. Extremely overpriced for what you get with the Rump of lamb, luckily we were there with a taste card for 50% off. Avoid like the plague
