We were staying at the nearby So lodges for the weekend, and this pub was a convenient walk away. Varied menu and lovely hot fresh food, at reasonable prices. So good we visited again for Sunday lunch! Very friendly staff too, would definitely recommend
Had lunch here before visiting The Conifers Nursing Home. It was quite busy and it had a nice atmosphere. We decided on fish and chips which was outstanding and a Timothy Taylor steak pie with chunky chips which was also excellent I personally felt it was let down by ordinary garden peas instead of mushy or minted peas. Having said that I certainly would visit again.
We were made really welcome and the dog was made a fuss of on several occasions. The starter and main meals were excellent and we were to full to have a sweet. Staff friendly and checked everything OK but not overly in your face Will go back
Need good clean tables sticky tables chair was sticky back rest Roasted potatoes horrible worst I've ever had Yorkshire pudding over cooked burnt Tasted like cardboard No roast beef left on Sunday lunch menu you should have beef at least to fulfill your customers menu Pork was reasonable Over all service was poor staff wasn't interested in seating yet we had booked Tables were empty at the times we went Yet still couldn't seat us I don't normally complain but on this occasion it has to be said I won't go again unless it improves more Rated 5/10
