Came here for brunch with my friend on Sunday, ordered duck and waffles, so delicious. Price is very reasonable and portion is pretty big for an Asian like me ?
The duck poutine was delicious, however, the fries were too salty as the duck itself is salty.Vegetarian options: There is one vegetarian option which could be improved.
Extremely low quality food. I do not recommend this restaurant.
We went to O’Somae for weekend brunch. They were so kind to seat us even with our newborn and stroller. O’Somae has an amazing community feel, which was part of the reason the owner’s chose its east end location. They are known for their breakfast poutine. However, we far better preferred the egg benedicts. The fries were well seasoned but the poutine lacked gravy and overall balance. The pears were insignificant in this dish providing no sweetness or texture. We tried the truffle mushroom and brisket benedicts. I am usually not one for truffle oil but the umami from the mushrooms, the perfectly poached egg and the well seasoned hollandaise made the benedict a delight. The biggest disappoint however were the home fries soggy, and unseasoned. It was a pleasure trying O’Somae for the first time still unsure if I would come back again.
