California Sandwiches - North York

Have been coming this this place for my Italian Veal sandwiches since 2002. Although I tried same sandwiches in different locations, I find this location provides most consistent flavor, portion and tastes. I heard their original location near little Italy is also top notch. Would love to try them someday. Two thumbs up!

Simply the best place for a veal/chicken/steak sandwhich.The price, quality and quantity cannot be beat!I'm a regular custome (every 2 weeks or so) and I've tried all their sandwiches. You should stay with the veal, chicken or steak sandwich. If you want vegetarian you can have their rapini sandwich which is very good but is often not available.Their other sandwichs are not that good.

The Italian veal sandwiches are a tradition that I grew up with in Toronto. I have eaten a number of different versions around the city since the 1970's. Now I've been living Los Angeles for many years and every time I'm back in Toronto, I always make a stop at California Sandwiches. Their sandwiches are generously sized, reasonably priced, and freshly prepared when you place your order. There are a variety of add-ins and selection of spice level to customize the sandwich to your liking. The golden, lightly-breaded veal is my favorite though they have a variety of meats available. Also, I'm glad that they are opening more restaurants around the city....the new one at York Mills and Don Mills is most convenient. For me it feels like home when I get to eat at California Sandwiches.

The Veal Sandwich was awesome! Got it with mild sauce, onions and mozzarella cheese. Great combo of flavors? Another must try sandwich shop in the GTA!

As always they provide freshly cooked sandwiches. I always eat the chicken sandwich, as it has to be the best I've had in Toronto as its freshly cooked , not made with frozen food. Highly recommend it.
