Most menus feature similar offerings, sizable portion sizes, and varying decor styles. Lim Ga Ne strikes a balance in terms of both decor and seating arrangements. One side of the restaurant has a simple, traditional table-and-chair setup, while the other side features a low table seating area that requires you to remove your shoes. The decor is modest, adorned with a few posters, televisions, and international flags hanging from the ceiling. When I arrived, it wasn’t too crowded, so I was quickly seated and served a warm cup of tea. To be honest, my culinary adventure in Korean cuisine has been somewhat limited lately—I seem to have gotten fixated on Tonkatsu and its variations. Although I didn’t find it listed on Lim Ga Ne's main menu, there was a small poster on the wall advertising Tonkatsu for just $10, so that's what I decided to order. While waiting for my main dish, the server brought out six small side dishes, which is a common practice at Korean restaurants. The selection included kimchi, pickled radish, roasted potatoes, bean sprouts, shredded beans, and some short, broad flour noodles. Soon, a large plate arrived, showcasing a generous portion of breaded and deep-fried pork cutlet, topped with a sweet, fruity sauce known as 'katsu.' Accompanying it were sticky rice and coleslaw. The pork had been pounded thin, and the crispy breading managed to keep the meat moist and tender. Overall, it was another delicious and satisfying Korean meal.
This 24-hour Korean restaurant is a great spot with a wide variety of food options to choose from.
I truly loved this dish; it had the perfect level of spiciness in the broth and a variety of ingredients that kept it exciting.
Overall, I really enjoyed our dinner. The banchan was delicious, the service and restaurant setting were simple and great, and we got to try some brand new Korean dishes.
At Finch, Lim Gah Neh is a very popular Korean restaurant chain in the heart of Uptown Koreatown. This location offers especially fresh and delicious cuts of barbeque meats such as beef ribs and freshly sliced pork belly, and this is the place for Korean barbeques. Besides that, I will order extra cold appetizers (panchan) as they are both sweet, fresh and savoury and is a great start to the meal.
