However, the biggest issue is the inconsistency with their opening hours. They have an electronic sign displaying their hours, but it seems to change frequently. Most days they open at 12 noon, but there is one day where they open at 12:30, and this 12:30 opening time seems to vary randomly. This inconsistency can be frustrating for customers. Furthermore, even when they do open at 12, they are not always ready to serve customers as they still have to bring the food out and prepare it. Overall, the food is great but the unpredictable opening hours make it a gamble to visit at noon.
Mr Jerk has the best Jamaican food outside of Jamaica. I have visited Jamaica multiple times so I can confidently say that their Jerk pork and chicken, served with rice and peas, are delicious. The Ox tail, saltfish, and rotis are all excellent as well. You won't be let down by this restaurant. As an Italian who grew up near Little Jamaica on Eglinton and Oakwood Avenue, I have been to many Caribbean restaurants and Mr Jerk is by far my favorite.
We loved the beef patties and jerk chicken with rice. Take out was fast and tasted so good. Service was great. Will be back!
I absolutely love this place! It's the only spot I go to for Jerk pork or chicken in Toronto. The portions are huge, so one large portion is enough for two people. They load up the containers with food like there's no tomorrow. I prefer the Jerk pork over the chicken because I find that the chicken tends to get burnt easily in their oven. The pork is juicy and delicious. You also have the option of Ox tail or Curry chicken gravy, and I usually get both so I can enjoy the flavors of both dishes. The dinner dish comes with rice and peas, as well as steamed vegetables. They also make a fantastic beef or chicken soup that is thick, hot, and incredibly tasty. I usually take the soup home and add some hot water to dilute it a bit because it's so concentrated. Overall, this place offers great value for dinner in Toronto. I visit at least once a week for takeout.
