My first experience of Firejacks will be my last! Ordered the deep filled cheese and chive skins, got 3 shallow filled sorry looking limp skins, where the pot of Creme Fraise, was larger than skins themselves and all for £6!! Complained to the waitress and she apologised and said she would bring another order over...unfortunately this good deed turned out to be just as bad and limp as the previous order, plus the poor waitress was rebuked by her hygienically challenged manager!! Whom then tried to tell us that this is what’s always served and that’s the price, Sorry!! The fillet steak was of a better standard and cooked well, but still found a large piece of sinew running through it!! Overall not a great experience!!
To start we had chilli tossed calamari and chicken strips. I enjoyed both but my partner felt he’d had much nicer calamari and these were a little too greasy. For mains I had the steak jacker burger. I asked for the steak rare and the bun to be brioche. As I find with pretty much every place I go to, no one knows how to cook a steak rare. In fact the steak I received was more of a medium to well done with only a slight pink in the middle. Many of you may be happy with that, however it is not to my taste and not what I ordered. The burger itself is flame grilled which I did enjoy as I do like the bbq flavour it adds. The burgers are on the small side and asking for £13 is incredibly over priced. My partner ordered a blue cheese burger on sesame bun. His burger was served in a brioche bun and the blue cheese was inedible. He is a blue cheese lover and will eat all forms of blue cheese from mild to really strong. I didn’t try it myself as I don’t like blue cheese. His comments were that the blue cheese had an absolutely awful flavour and completely inedible and was scraped out of the burger entirely. When approached and asked how our meal was I informed them it wasn’t what we ordered, I.e the steak and the bun, however it wasn’t a major issue and considering it wasn’t particularly tasty food we didn’t want it replacing. We then received some ridiculous feedback, from who I can assume was the duty manager, about a mix up with orders in the kitchen and how confusing it got. There were only 8 customers at the point of us ordering and 12 by the time our food arrived. If this was a mix up with orders, which I doubt, then they have some serious issues to work on. McDonald’s Signature Collection is of comparable quality for a fraction of the price. We have had much nicer meals for a similar price. 2 starters 2 mains 2 drinks for £46. Reasonable price if the food is of a really good standard. This most certainly was not. This is not a restaurant I would recommend.
We went to firejacks the other day before the visit to the cinema as it happened before the time the table was booked, we went into
We weren't sure what to expect at Firejacks, but what we got was absolutely outstanding. The girlfriend and I managed to get a table during a very busy period on Saturday evening post a cinema screening, and were served by a very warm and friendly waitress who ensured we had a lovely dining experience. We had two great starters and main meals that appealed to both a BBQ and Spice lover and a slightly tamer palette, and having a huge selection of sauces available to compliment the meal was even better. The cocktails and beer selection were also great and rounded off a lovely Saturday evening out.
