Having visited the Princess Alexandra and always enjoyed the pizzas and Rachel’s hospitality . We decided it would be our first pub to visit since COVID 19! We were not disappointed! The table ordering system is as quick as before! The food was delicious! Sadly Rachel wasn’t there but we were looked after by Evie and Dylan! Clean, friendly! We will definitely be visiting again!
Found this on Trip Advisor when look for somewhere that serves good beer and nice food. Glad we came. We rang first to see if we needs to book and was assured that there were quite a few empty tables. As it was getting busy the landlord, unbeknownst to us, had reserved a table for us. There was a good selection of beers which have been kept well. They have a limited selection of gins, but I managed to find one that I liked. The food menu was limited, but everything was made to order and very delicious. A most pleasant visit.
Small cosy pub, nice decor, great atmosphere and good beers. Check beer prices before ordering though. We paid £6.25 a pint for draught bitter which seemed over the odds for a Northampton backstreet pub. The beer was nice but the price left a bit of a bad taste in the mouth !
If you’ve a passion for craft ale this is the sort of place you want to stumble upon. In Northampton for work I was keen to give the Princess Alexandra a try, and found myself spoilt for choice. A couple of IPAs were soaked up by three small plates crab cakes, mozzarella sticks and chilli infused meatballs. All tasty. Proper ale pub. Look forward to a second visit.
