I used to believe it was the best bee hoon I had ever tried, but unfortunately, the quality has declined over the years. However, it is still very good! The highlight of the fried bee hoon here is definitely the gravy - it is delicious! I recommend asking for extra gravy if you like your bee hoon to be more moist. The dish has also become more salty, which is not to my taste as I prefer less salty food. The chili sauce is too salty for me as well, but taste preferences vary.
The constant flow of loyal customers at this restaurant is a clear indication of the consistent quality maintained by the elderly couple who run the place. The dry mee pok is always served in a reasonable portion size, with simple and fresh flavors that make for a satisfying breakfast. The vegetable beehoon, also known as 'zhai mai fan', is very popular, but I choose to avoid it as it is not very healthy or nutritious.
I have only ever tried the vegetable fried bee hoon at this restaurant, which I have had many times in my life. I used to think it was the best bee hoon I had ever tasted, but unfortunately the quality has declined over the years (still good though!). The best thing about the bee hoon here is the crispy bits! I always ask for extra if they are moister than usual (which I prefer)! It has become saltier, which is not to my liking as I prefer it less salty. The chili here is also too salty for me, but that is just personal preference.
The steady flow of customers is evidence of the reliable quality that attracts the older couple. The dry mee pok is consistently served in a perfectly portioned bowl with straightforward and fresh aromas, making it a satisfying choice for breakfast. The vegetable beehoon zhai mai fan may be popular, but I choose to avoid it as it is not particularly healthy or nutritious.
I started my weekend morning by trying the vegan lor mee at this restaurant. This was my second time trying their lor mee, and once again, the portion was quite large, especially for someone like me who doesn't have a big appetite. If you want to try their lor mee and mee pok, make sure to go before 12pm. The rice specials are no longer available, so you will need to refer to the A4 laminated menu instead.
