Corner Cafe Riverside - Northmoor

First time eating here since I was a kid. Had breakfast, and it was just as I remember. Place smelled like freshly baked cinnamon rolls upon entering. We ordered the biscuits gravy with pancakes. Had that home cooked comfort food taste to it. Also tried the Gringo omelet. Really good flavors. Great spot for that wholesome American breakfast!

I've never had better fried okra or onion rings. The pot roast was insane. Some places have food that looks homemade but tastes frozen. This joint is legit real food. Chicken fried steak was phenomenal, in fact everything I had blew away expectations. We will be returning to try everything. The banana split pie was delicious. Hands down best diner food ever. Our server Lauren was an absolute angel.

I have never been so disappointed with an entire meal. I got the hamburger steak, that was the most unseasoned beef I’ve ever had. Not even the gravy had flavor and it was clearly pink inside . The cabbage is cooked well but also flavorless. This was expensive and horrible

Writing the review in the parking lot. I haven’t even driven off! First off let me start by saying we arrive at 9:22am on a Saturday and it was packed. It was just a party of 2 and we were sitting very quickly. The server I had was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. But the main dishes of the restaurant are why this review was written. So my daughter got funny face pancakes. They were delicate but very dry. We both had had browns and those were probably the best thing on the plate besides my eggs. Which were delicious. I ordered the corned beef hash, something I’ve had many a time, never from here, it was so bad the texture was like baby food. There was no seasoning. It was just bad. The server was very accommodating so I asked to have the country fried steak. The brought out a slab of mysterious meat drenched in fried oil. It was disgusting and worse than the corn beef hash when I informed the server. She went from pleasant to highly irritated because I immediately spit that food out and gagged at my table. It was disgusting. So when I informed her she told her they would charge me for the corn beef hash but that the meal could not be taken off just because I thought it was nasty. So don’t expect to come here thinking it’s some good country food because it is pasty and tasteless. I still tipped her because the service was fair but I will not be coming bk here ever again. 30$ on food that was thrown away. The accommodation should have been me being charged for eggs and hash browns because that was all that was edible
